We are not asking you to replace your stack.

These pages exist because the question we get asked most is how this fits next to a CAT tool or a TMS. The answer is usually that it runs alongside them and takes the part of the work they were never built for.

The eight we get asked about

Each page covers what the tool is genuinely good at, where the document itself is left to you, and how the two fit together.

  • Trados

The reference point in professional translation memory. Strong at translator workflow, not built to return a finished file.

    Compare with Trados
  • memoQ

Project management and translator tooling in one place. The document layout is still a separate problem.

    Compare with memoQ
  • Phrase

Localisation platform with a strong software-string focus. Document-class input is the boundary.

    Compare with Phrase
  • Lokalise

Developer-oriented localisation with good release integration. Not aimed at formatted business documents.

    Compare with Lokalise
  • Crowdin

Community and continuous localisation for product content. Layout-bearing files are out of scope.

    Compare with Crowdin
  • DeepL

Machine translation that reads well. It returns text, and the document is left for you to reassemble.

    Compare with DeepL
  • Cloud MT

Translation as a cloud service, metered per call. The engine is the product; the file is not.

    Compare with cloud MT
  • Other TMS

Translation management systems generally — strong at managing work, not at producing the artefact.

No prices on this site, including anyone else's

None of these pages state what any tool costs, ours included. No price list is published for tools of this kind — they are tiered by seats, volume and contract terms, so a number on a web page would be wrong for almost every reader and unfair to the vendors named.

What the pages do compare is capability: what each kind of tool is built to do, and which part of the work it leaves with you.

Questions

Are you saying these tools are bad?

No. Most of our engagements run alongside one of them. They solve workflow and translation memory well, and that is not what this pipeline does. The pages describe where the boundary is.

We already have a TMS. Does that rule this out?

It is the opposite. The usual shape is that the TMS keeps managing the work while this handles the documents it was never built to return.

Why these eight and not others?

They are the ones clients ask about. If the tool you use is not listed, tell us what it is and we will answer for your stack directly rather than add a page that says little.

Tell us what you run today.

One conversation is usually enough to know where the boundary falls and whether the connection is straightforward.

  • No signup, no self-service portal — you send a file, we run it.
  • You get the finished document back, not a screenshot of one.
  • If it is not good enough, you have lost nothing.
